Is it real???

On this day in which our nation saw the end of an era and begins the healing and new hope, I myself must ask. Is this real?
With foreclosures and job losses looming and an ever widening hole of black debt, are we as the metaphysical do goodies just blowing smoke?
I just heard that while the new president was speaking at the podium on the steps of the capital, that a supervisor in a major media company was handing out lay off notices. In these last few days alone we in our little community have witnessed cutbacks, hiring freezes and much much sacrifice. Why? Is it not us who preach "Be the light, the solution, don't buy into that panic out there!"
This morning things look a little brighter. But there is much work to do. And one man cannot do it alone. Or who says so.
Ghandi, Mother Theresea, Martin Luther, Jesus, Buddha....This list continues. They did things at first very alone.
We gather strength in numbers. We hold each other up when things get rough. For many, spirituality comes in times of trouble. Other live this light every day of their lives. Me I'm not so lucky. I still waiver.
But today, as I watched news coverage of the inaugural, I saw a glint of hope renewed. A young black sailor stood at attention brisk against the cold. He couldn't have been much more than 20 years of age, but his face spoke of the witness and horror of combat. The sun shone bright as this proud young man watched alone is a sea of flags.
Then, and not even spoken of by the media coverage, I watched a lone tear roll down his cheek.
That spoke to me louder than a fly by of F-16 or he roar of the 21 cannon salute One lone tear. That's all it took.
Today, for the first time in a very long time, I am proud to be an American
