She became an ecumenical campus minister at the Evergreen State College and later joined a California meditation community where she deepened her connection to Nature and Silence. After 8 years, when her inner voice mandated, "I have to be who I am; I have to do what I came to do," Jo moved to Oregon. She began counseling clients in 1990.

Jo, a Certified Shamanic Astrologer, draws on the wisdom of owl and hawk and a host of heavenly guides from numerous traditions, offering astrological, intuitive, and spiritual counseling to individuals on their unique paths. Complementing her Shamanic work, Jo uses the ancient Chinese oracle, the I Ching, to focus your inner guidance on issues such as life purpose, career, creativity and relationship.

Her book, Knowing Woman, Nurturing the Feminine Soul, scheduled for spring publication, encourages readers to recognize and follow their inner guidance at this time of dramatic evolutionary change, the Turning of the Ages.

A long time student of the ancient Chinese oracle, Jo utilizes I Ching readings to complement her astrological and Shamanic work.
