Already a mystic, the experience refocused her life.

After completing eight years as cabinet director for Govenor Daniel J. Evans of Washington State, Jo, a student of eastern and western religions, philosophy, astrology, and Jungian psychology, became an ecumenical campus minister at the Evergreen State College. She completed a Master's in Human Values at San Francisco Theological Seminary, arguing in her thesis, that the stages of spiritual development are universal, whether or not a person embraces a religious tradition.

During eight years at Anada, a meditation community outside of Nevada City, California, she deepened her connection to Nature and Silence. Then, while on a Vision Quest in Joshua Tree National Monument, Jo's inner voice mandated, "I have to be who I am; I have to do what I came to do." Committing to service to individuals, she moved to Oregon where she makes her home beside a duck pond among Western cedar and fir.

"As above, so below; as within, so without" describe Jo's sense of connection to the sky and to all of nature. One exists in God; God is in each of us. The Om (Amen) sounds and creation issues forth. Gaze at the changing sky on a clear night, see the universe expanding, shifting, evolving. Know that our beautiful earth and each of us are a part of All That Is.

Jo Garceau has offered astrological and spiritual counseling to individuals since 1990. In 2005, she completed an apprenticeship with internationally recognized astrologer, teacher and writer, Daniel Giamario. Jo is Daniel's personal assistant when he travels, a past member of the Shamanic Astrology council, and assists Daniel Giamario with on-going programs. In late 2008, her book, Knowing Woman, Nurturing the Feminine Soul, was published.

JO GARCEAU, CERTIFIED SHAMANIC ASTROLOGER
"Spiritual and Shamanic Sharing in Safe, Sacred Space"

Thirty years ago at Kalalock Beach on Washington State's Olympic Peninsula, Jo Garceau picked up a seashell and catapulted into oneness with All That Is.

One with the Universe,
One with Love,
One with Stillness by the sea.
The rings of my shell expand infinitely.
Returning trancendence and peace
In an ambience of fog.
